The First One

Hail, and well met!

This is the first post at my new home. Yes, I know there’s over 2,000 posts earlier than this one – that’s all content migrated from my old home that made the transition across. Expect (and please forgive) some oddness in the older stuff, like titles mashed together as WikiWords (because they are) and Comments appearing as Pages (because they are). I’ll fix the older stuff as and when I can to bring the look (and categories) in line with what’s to come in the future.

Ah. The future.

Well, it happens to us all, doesn’t it?

Here’s the plan – my plan – for the future. There’s this blog, containing RPG posts, renders, opinions and maybe even the odd photograph or two. Microlite20.net is ticking along wonderfully covering the smallest thing in d20 gaming, and there’s Greywulf::Net filling my inner uber-geek. Add in the as-yet-unnamed GreyWiki as a Sunday-supplement more-in-depth analysis zone and my plans for Save or Die (which I’ll save (or die) for another time), and it looks like….. uhhhh… a lot of work :)

This move is long overdue, and I’m excited to finally have a full-time WordPress blog to destroy tweak all of my very own. Expect changes. Expect the theme to change, daily. Expect to see no sidebars (my preference), or twelve. In other words, it’ll be just like any other blog out there.

Only better.

Welcome to Greywulf’s Lair: Part III. Or IV. I’ve lost count.

Bugger.

  1. Thanks, Scott. While I’ve used and abused WordPress in the past for specific project for myself and others, this is the first time I’ve gone the WP route for my main blog. I feel so…. dirty….. :)

  2. Aaaahrghaaaanooooo! Oddmuse goes down clawing and biting like a cat goes to the tub – but there’s not helping it. Without a decent server who’s up when it should be up and down when they’re adding more memory and disks – and for no other reason!! – without a decent server there’s no oddmusing to be had… Sad, that.

  3. Yeh, the server’s stability finally forced my hand to move, and now was as good a time as any to shift to WordPress.

But fear not, Alex. I’ve got plans for oddmuse yet. All is not lost in wikiland :)

  4. I just got my bill for emacswiki.org – a server hosted in Germany with appropriate bandwidth costs. EUR 240 = annual ouch. But that’s the server with my best uptime. campaignwiki.org is being hosted by hcoop.net. I find the cooperative aspect intriguing, but I’m still not convinced that it can handle emacswiki.org.

  5. Yeh, I’m still intrigued and tempted by hcoop.net. Right now though, my priority is stability and predictability, and that’s something Mochahost is providing – so far :)
