“I am Wep-Wawet, the Grey Wulf, the opener of ways and sworn foe of Nun, the bringer of chaos. Who dares wake me?”
“I…. uhhhh….. I’m Professor Brandy Bowen, Egyptian Antiquities curator of Freedom City Museum. Look, I’ll just leave here and…….”
“STAY! There is much work to be done.”
When Professor Bowen brought the Two Khopesh of The Wolf together, she unknowingly summoned none other than Wep-Wawet, Egyptian wolfen god of war, right into her pokey office in the lower basement of Freedom City Museum. These mystical blades were designed to be kept apart, one given to each opposing foe as an effort to keep the tribes separate, or face the god’s wrath in battle. At the height of his power, if the two Khopesh came within a mile of each other, Wep-wawet would arise and lay waste to both tribes. They also had an annoying habit of unerringly returning to their owners meaning they couldn’t just be left buried in the desert somewhere. Blast those cunning magic items. His power much diminished, the two Khopesh had to touch to bring him into this realm. Now, it looks like he’s here to stay.
Make no mistake; Wep-Wawet is no mindless warrior, but a cunning strategist and scout. He senses the chaos and incursions of Nun permeating the modern age. With the assistance of Professor Bowen and the other members of The Watchmen of the Justice Avengers, he will administer justice, Egyptian style!
Dirty little secret: Separate the Khopesh (about a mile should do it) and The Grey Wulf will sleep again. The only problem is that they never leave his hands……..
Notes: Wep-Wawet is the original Grey Wulf, a powerful god from the most ancient of Egyptian times. Originally depicted as a wolf, that morphed into being a jackal. Later Egyptian periods lessened his status to becoming a son of Anubis, then nothing more than a half-forgotten symbol embroidered on hunt standards. In his heyday, Wep-Wawet had a whole freakin’ city (Lycopolis – which is officially a Rockin’ Name for a city) named after him. Such is the way of religion, eh?
Say it loud: “It’s the HOLY EGYPTIAN GOD OF WAR!!!” Oh yeh.

Vulcan Stevs last blog post..The RPGBN Shared World: Some thoughts.
Yeah! Egyptian-based super heroes are the coolest. A good thing, because egyptian-based super villains are the worst.
Nice!!

@Stev No, I’m sitting this one out just this once. Too busy to even think about world building right now :D
The Grey Wulf’s country of origin – Ancient Egypt (or RPGBN equivalent)!
