I’m looking for a fantasy map of a small town – larger than a village with several intertwined roads, but certainly not city sized. And I’m drawing a blank. I’ve trawled through a hefty chunk of Cartographer’s Guild and seen no shortage of wonderful maps of cities, villages, dungeons and whole regions, but precious few decent town maps. It’s likely I missed them, like the proverbial needle in a haystack.
Quite what a needle is doing in a haystack, and why you’d be looking for it in the first place, I have no idea. Proverbs and old sayings rarely make sense.
Anyhow. I need a town map. Something a little smaller than Fallcrest (but not Fallcrest itself, before anyone suggests) in which I can set a scenario revolving around a series of murders carried out by the Night Axeman. There need to be roads, so I can plot a trail, and they need to be windy so the trail isn’t straight.
Creating one myself isn’t an option, as I’m rubbish at that kind of thing, and know my limitations. An existing map or town generator would be good though.
Any suggestions, oh wise readers?
I have some maps on my blog:

Hey, Rifton looks great! I’ve downloaded your handout, I may well be able to use that. Thanks!
Here are a couple of resources for generating towns and cities:

That second one is quite awesome.
