Warhammer 40,000 Conquest – the cheapest way to get into Kill Team

A few months ago, Games Workshop released a partwork magazine called Warhammer 40,000 Conquest. It ran for a short while in just a few select areas of the UK as a trial then was, somewhat annoyingly, pulled.

I’m very happy to say Warhammer 40,000 Conquest is back, and here to stay. It is initially available in the UK only (from the end of this month), but I’m sure it will extend to other areas very soon. That trial – well, let’s just say it was a huge success.

The magazine will retail for £7.99 and for that you get a bunch of models each month, a few extras (paints, dice, etc) and a partwork detailing the history and rules for the Warhammer 40,000 game. It’s ideal for new (or youngers) players as well as more experienced wargamers where the lootcrate-like enjoyment of getting a bunch of stuff through the mail each month appeals.

The first issue is just £1.99 and for that you get three Space Marines Primaris Intercessors, three paints and a brush. Buy two of Issue one and you have a complete ready-to-play force for Kill Team for less than four quid! That’s too much of a bargain to miss out on. Heck, buy four for £8 and you’ve got two Kill Teams so you’re all set to play with a friend (note: friend not included).

Issue two is £4.99 and includes three Death Guard Plague Marines, so either pick up two of that issue or wait until Issue four which insludes a whole bunch of Death Guard Poxwalkers.

I will be keeping a very close eye on this, and highly recommend you do to.

Till next time!
