Concept render: Eliza Peregrine

Here’s a quick concept render of Eliza Peregrine, a friend’s timelost steampunk angel in our ongoing superhero campaign. This is her daywear – she wear a far more sensible bodysuit whilst on duty. As well as flight, she can age people and objects (to dust, if she touches them for long enough) and can see good and evil. It’s like a permanent Know Alignment spell cast upon her, and is as much a curse as a blessing.

What’s most fun is her personality though, and that’s something you just don’t get from a character sheet. She is a thoroughly Victorian woman thrust into the modern age. She’s like Mary Poppins crossed with a fire-and-brimstone preacher. And trust me – this is one angel who knows all about the fire and brimstone!

In completely unrelated news and on a totally random tangent, if you haven’t done so yet, I suggest you check out WordPress 3.2’s new full screen edit mode for posts and pages. It’s great! Hit F11 to set your browser to full screen as well, and you have a full Writeroom-like zen editor. Great stuff.

  1. Or Shift+CMD+F if you’re using a Mac (Chrome on a Mac?).

I like her. My only thought would be that someone named Peregrine needs to use those wings to fly up really high and then drop like a bomb.
