Character du Jour: Anne Dieu-le-Veut

“To me, men!”
“Aye ma’am!” came the cry of retort, 30 guttural voices speaking as one. Not a one questioned the orders of a woman on board this vessel, given that the woman was none other than Anne Dieu-le-Veut, buccaneer Captain of the Cartagena!

Anne Dieu-le-Veut is the rarest of breeds – a female pirate. He name means “Anne God-wants-it” because it was said that she had a will so strong, that it was as if God Himself wanted it.

And she’s a historically real person. Just ask Wikipedia. Go read. I’ll wait.

How cool is she? Hot damn.

DAZ Studio, no postwork

Notes: There’s definitely a pirate thing in the air today what with ChattyDM’s Fey pirates and airships and old Uncle Bear jawin’ about playing Treasure Fleet. I reckon 4e D&D would rock for playing a Pirates campaign. Arrrrrrr!
