Yes, it’s true. If you want a drink in certain parts of the UK, you’ll soon need to be fingerprinted first. God help you if you’re, like Asian looking or something. That’ll be a full body cavity search then, all in the interests of public safety.

Maybe fascism wasn’t such a bad idea after all.

I’ve had a post in the back of my mind for a few days about the Brighton Bombing in the UK in 1984, where the IRA (the nation’s favourite terrorist organization) tried and almost succeeded in wiping out the Prime Minister and the leaders of the Conservative party. Five people died and 34 were injured. Margaret Thatcher was, of course, totally indestructible.

Afterwards there were investigations, a heightened army presence and I’m pretty sure a heck of a lot of behind the scenes action. Twenty years on we have peace, relative stability and prosperity.

If that had happened to Bush, now, Ireland would be a nuclear wasteland where the remains of civilization ate their own babies to survive and all business interests are owned by Haliburton et al.
