Off the top of my head, a great blog should be:
- fun and a pleasure to read
- informative
- thought provoking
- updated regularly
- designed to be easy on the eye

It gets added kudos for also being a blog about writing, which just happens to be one of my favourite hobbies (I collect hobbies. Its my hobby. Didnt you know?).
